Thoughts of Faith- Czech Republic

The communists were very effective at suppressing Christianity in the Czech Republic, so successful in fact that most Czechs are atheists. When we sent missionaries there only a decade ago, nearly all people who came to our church had no knowledge of Christianity. They lived "having no hope and without God in the world" (Ephesians 2:12)
It is exciting to witness God's work in converting so many people. Our successes include

• Continued outreach through St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Plzen
• Continued proclamation of the Gospel in Horni Briza, a town of 6,000 inhabitants with no church
• Tuition assistance for students at TOF funded Martin Luther School

"Much of our work centers around the children who attend our Christian Day School. God has richly blessed our work with these children, and many of them openly witness to their faith in the Savior. And, yet, for them, there is a real challenge in living in very close-knit - and yet non-Christian families. Very few of our children have a believing mother, father or grandparent to encourage them in their faith, or to bring them to church. Most of the time, their families show complete disinterest, and sometimes are downright hostile toward the faith of these lambs in Jesus' flock. We ask you to join us in praying for these young Christians. Pray that they remain faithful to the Lord."
